Black Canyon of the Gunnison is one of the deepest, narrowest canyons in the United States. Carved by the Gunnison River, the canyon’s narrow width and steep decent makes it difficult for sunlight to reach its depths. On average, the river drops 34 feet per mile making it the 5th steepest mountain descent in North America.
The park becomes the 54th US National Park to be added to the Duckwyn Travel Passport.
